I started consulting Dr Deepak Dubey at Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, with a prostate related problem. I had many consultation sessions with him as he progressed with the investigation, diagnosis and treatment. I found Dr Dubey very caring and empathetic. He listened patiently, even to silliest of my doubts - even encouraging me to share all my concerns! His approach was very methodical, systematic and focused. I could calmly absorb and deal with the apparent malignancy in the Prostate due to the timely, confident and reassuring advice given and actions taken by Dr Dubey. The successive clinical investigation procedures namely MRI, Biopsy and PET scans were done quickly before confirming presence of cancerous cells in the prostate. Dr Dubey's clarity of thought and confidence in suggesting the course of treatment was very reassuring to me - As per the advice, RARP (Robotic Assisted Radical Prostatectomy) was conducted by Dr Dubey (I learnt that he is a world renowned RARP expert) very smoothly with no post-operative complications. Post procedure period comprised of 2 nights of hospitalisation and 7 days at home with catheter; Against so much of apprehension expressed by friends and peers, I did not face the most feared post-operative problem - incontinence! During hospitalisation, Dr Dubey visited me in the ward regularly and cleared all my doubts and apprehensions. Recovery was smooth and as planned. After six weeks, my PSA level stood at 0.07 ng/mL - well below the permissible level of < 0.1 ng/mL at 6 weeks after RARP. All my life routines are back to normal now. There are no restrictions in any of my activities. I am out of all medicines. In the end - a minor observation - the waiting time to meet Dr Dubey in the OPD is relatively long; perhaps due to the large number of patients arriving to consult him! I see this as a minor issue. I strongly recommend Dr Deepak Dubey for any Urology related ailment. He is certainly a model doctor that a patient could look for!

My Journey to a Better Quality of Life My name is Sushma Prakash, and I had been living with severe Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) since childhood. For many years, urinary leakage was something I had to manage every single day. On a normal day, I would use around two pads, and whenever I had a cold or runny nose, the leakage would increase significantly, requiring me to use around six pads a day. Had to wait for more than 2 hours with my 70 years old mother at old airport road manipal. after that the receptionist asked us to consult with a different Dr. Deepak as the original Dr. Deepak Dube seemed to be busy whole day. we went as walk in. not sure, why still they gave us Dr. Deepak's appointment. I saw patients waiting for him for 4-5 hours to show him their reports. the receptionists were prioritizing only the patients who paid money for that day's visit and they were simply uninterested about anyone coming with reports.
