There are a few reasons why you might experience tiredness and fatigue after eating. One reason is that the food you ate was high in sugar and caused your blood sugar to spike. When your blood sugar spikes, your body secretes insulin to bring it back down to normal levels. The problem is that insulin secretion causes glucose uptake by cells all over the body, including muscle cells. This reduces the amount of glucose available for energy production in the muscles, leading to feelings of fatigue.
Another reason you might feel tired after eating is because the food you ate was high in calories and caused you to gain weight. Extra weight puts stress on your body and can make you feel tired and fatigued.
