It's a huge relief. Dialysis is very hard on the body. It's tiring, and it's a lot of work to keep up with all the treatments. After my transplant, I felt like I had finally been set free.
I also felt like I had been given a new lease on life. I was so grateful to have received a new kidney, and I was determined to make the most of it. I started eating better, exercising more, and taking better care of myself. My old kidney was from a deceased donor, so I really wanted to make sure that I honored their memory by living a healthy life.
