A cancerous lump is typically a hard, painless mass that may vary in size. It usually feels firm or solid and might feel fixed to the skin or underlying tissue. It can also be tender, soft, or round. In some cases, these lumps may cause itching, burning sensations and/or changes in the texture of the skin around them. Typically they are painless unless they become irritated due to inflammation caused by rubbing against clothing or jewelry. Some people also report an increase in temperature around the lump when touched which could indicate an infection or inflammation problem has developed as a result of their cancerous lump. If you find a lump that fits any of these descriptions it is important to have it checked out by your doctor as soon as possible for further evaluation and diagnosis!
