Yes, nipple discharge is actually quite normal and is not something to be concerned about in most cases. Generally speaking, it's caused by hormonal changes in the body or stimulation of the nipples - such as occurs during breastfeeding or sexual activity.
Sometimes a hormone-secreting tumor can cause nipple discharge, but this type of cancerous tumor is extremely rare. In more common cases, nipple discharge is often related to pregnancy (especially when accompanied by other pregnancy symptoms), changes in birth control methods or medications like antidepressants, hormones used for fertility treatments, and infections around the breast area.
If you're experiencing frequent or persistent nipple discharge that seems unusual for your body - meaning it doesn't come from both nipples at once and/or there are additional physical signs like redness/swelling - then it may be worthwhile to consult with your doctor in order to rule out any underlying medical conditions.
