Most people who have septoplasty experience a significant reduction in nasal obstruction immediately after surgery. However, it can take several weeks for the full effects of the surgery to be realized. In some cases, the nose may be slightly obstructed for up to 6 weeks after septoplasty. However, this is usually due to swelling and is not indicative of poor results. Overall, septoplasty is a safe and effective way to improve nasal airflow and alleviate some of the symptoms associated with a deviated septum.
