A liver transplant is a medical procedure in which a diseased or damaged liver is replaced with a healthy liver from either an organ donor or another patient. The entire surgery takes approximately 7-8 hours to complete and involves several steps.

In the first step, the surgeon makes an incision in the abdomen of the recipient and removes their diseased or damaged liver. It’s then placed in cold sterile solution that helps keep it viable during its removal from the body.

Next, the donor's healthy liver is prepared for implantation into the recipient's body by removing connective tissue and any other excess material with scissors, scalpels, and forceps. Once cleared for insertion, it’s placed into position within picturesque tunnels created by positioning small pieces of plastic over strategically located points on organs surrounding it. This helps give surgeons more access to make sure everything fits together comfortably once reattached before finally securing them all with sutures.

The third step involves reconnecting blood vessels as well as bile ducts between both livers using surgical instruments like needles, thread-like suture material called Prolene®, Glide™ clips made out of titanium alloy materials (for larger vessels), Teflon® sealant strips (for smaller ones), etc., so they can function normally again without any leaks when inserted back into place in their new home inside a human host! Finally after this time consuming process has been completed successfully – all that remains left now would just be some necessary post-operative management such as anti-rejection medications taken orally each day or via intravenous injection twice weekly depending upon individual circumstances plus regular checkups/exams at least twice yearly thereafter until eventually tapering off down over course INORDER FOR THE NEW LIVER TO BECOME FULLY ACCEPTED & FUNCTIONING NORMALLY AGAIN THROUGHOUT LIFE'S JOURNEY FORWARD!
