Yes, it is possible for gastritis to cause chest pain. Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining that can occur when your stomach acid comes into contact with the fragile mucosal lining of your digestive tract. In some cases, a bout of gastritis can cause chest pains due to irritation or inflammation of the esophagus which connects your throat and stomach.

The most common symptom associated with gastritis is abdominal pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen that comes and goes over time. While usually not severe, it may be accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, bloating, loss of appetite and even fevers in some cases. Chest pain due to gastritis typically presents itself as tightness or pressure feeling around the breastbone area which often radiates outwards towards shoulders and arms. This type of pain might also be described as burning or uncomfortable squeezing sensation that increases when you take deep breaths like during coughing spells.

Gastrointestinal specialists recommend seeking medical attention if chest pains persist despite antacids treatment or if they are accompanied by other signs such as shortness of breath,, dizziness , heart palpitations , weakness , sweating etc . It should also be noted that although quite rare but still possible; chest pain related to gastric issues can sometimes mimic symptoms similar those caused by cardiac disease so consulting a doctor would be best course action for anyone experiencing prolonged unexplained chest discomfort .

In conclusion ; yes it is entirely plausible for someone suffering from long-term gastrointestinal upset (like chronic uncontrolled heartburn) resulting from acute/chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) GERD or silent acid reflux ) associated with malfunctioning esophageal sphincter valve system ;to experience some degree amount chest distress/pain depending upon how their body reacts against constant exposure acidic environment created within lower oesophageal region ..
