Gina had been dreaming of starting a family for years, but when she and her husband decided the time was right, things didn’t quite go as planned. After months of trying to conceive without success, they decided to seek out medical help.
The couple visited a fertility specialist who ran several tests on Gina and her husband to see if there were any underlying issues that could be causing their troubles. After some puzzling results from one particular test came back positive, the doctor informed them that Gina had contracted Lyme Disease at some point in the past. The news stunned both of them; neither had even realized she was infected with this difficult-to-diagnose condition.
The doctor explained that it was likely that the Lyme infection had caused inflammation in Gina's reproductive system which made it hard for her body to sustain a pregnancy. She needed to take antibiotics and other medications in order to get rid of the infection before they could even think about conceiving again – something which would take at least six months or more depending upon how severe it was.
After feeling upset yet relieved by finally figuring out what was going on with her body, Gina set off on a journey towards healing so she could make her dream of becoming a mother come true one day soon…
