We have known Dr. Aritra Ghosh since April 2020, when my mother-in-law was diagnosed with a serious illness and underwent skin lump surgery under his care. From the very first consultation till her last days, Dr. Ghosh stood by our family not only as an excellent surgeon but also as an incredibly compassionate and dependable human being. He was proactive from the beginning — getting the reports done quickly, identifying the malignancy early, and taking timely decisions whenever needed. During such a difficult phase for our family, what truly meant the most was that he was always available. Whether through phone calls or messages, he patiently guided us, answered every concern, and supported us throughout the journey. Even though my own sister is a plastic surgeon based in Mumbai, we still found ourselves relying on Dr. Ghosh’s guidance and reassurance because of the trust and confidence he gave us. Recently, in May 2026, I underwent gallbladder removal surgery under him, and once again I experienced the same level of excellence and care. Within just a few days, everything was properly evaluated and planned. The surgery was done beautifully, the incisions were extremely neat and precise, and my recovery and healing have been very smooth. I am truly satisfied and grateful that I chose him for my treatment. Dr. Ghosh is very friendly, approachable, and patient. I very much recommend Dr. Aritra Ghosh to everyone. A very experienced surgeon who will put you at ease and definitely cure your condition. I was suffering from external hemorrhoids and fissure for almost three years. After a lot of unsuccessful non surgical treatments (allopathic/ayurvedic/homeo), I finally decided to go the surgical way. I went to Pristyn a year back, and they recommended a laser hemorrhoidopexy and sphincterotomy. They promised less pain and immediate recovery in laser procedure as compared to open surgery. Hence I went ahead with the laser procedure. However I had post surgical pain for around a week (i had to take pain killer). The hemorrhoids were cured in 2 weeks but the fissure condition remained. The fissure worsened and the pain increased. Going to washroom was literally a nightmare for me everyday.Finally after a year of the laser surgery, I went to Dr. Aritra Ghosh. He initially prescribed non surgical treatment for a week and told me that he will go ahead with surgery only if it didn't work. As there was no much effect, he prescribed an open surgery (he said he doesn't believe in laser). I was sceptical at first, but he assured me of assured results and that the post surgical recovery process won't be as painful as I was thinking. I went ahead with the surgery anyway. To my surprise, both the surgical process and post surgical recovery process was much better than the previous laser procedure. I didn't have considerable pain post surgery and stopped taking pain killers in two days. Everything is normal now and I am happy that I found the right doctor.

I had a deeply disappointing consultation experience with Dr. Aritra Ghosh at Manipal Hospital Whitefield regarding my 84-year-old father’s asymptomatic gallbladder stone. We specifically consulted him because, considering my father’s age and the fact that he had no symptoms, our primary question was whether surgery was actually necessary and whether the risks at his age justified it. Unfortunately, I did not feel that these concerns received the careful evaluation they deserved. During the consultation, I had brought my father’s medical history and reports, but there was very little discussion around his overall health, age-related surgical risk, or whether conservative monitoring could be considered. ** * ** ** * ** Eventually, we were strongly advised to proceed with surgery. ** ** ** ** ** ** * I fully understand that doctors can have different medical opinions. ** ** ** ** ** For an 84-year-old asymptomatic patient, I expected a detailed conversation about necessity, risks, alternatives and the option of observation before discussing procedure types and costs. Perhaps Dr. Ghosh may be an accomplished surgeon, but based purely on our experience, I would not recommend him to someone looking for a careful, patient-centric second opinion on whether surgery should be performed in the first place. ** ** **

Recently visited Dr. Ghosh for occasional pain in the lower abdomen that was not settling with medication. Was diagnosed having desmoid tumor and was advised surgery if pain persists. Had the surgery 6 months later. Happy that Dr. Ghosh diagnosed my condition and planned my treatment very systematically giving me a lot of options and not rushing me for surgery. Infact he helped me plan for surgery at a convenient time when I was able to take a break from work. Before surgery Dr. Ghosh explained the procedure in detail, post op, cost, insurance.(went back to him a couple of times after discharge since mine was not a cashless settlement) and I've found him to be quite patient with my queries. Before surgery, I was worried about the mesh that would be implanted, specially about whether this would affect my life post surgery. But my recovery was fast and I recall having very little discomfort post op. Got back to work within a week and since then I've been doing great. Thanks to Dr Ghosh and staff @ Manipal Whitefield!
