My experience with Dr. Shanthala Thuppanna has been extremely reassuring, and I feel genuinely grateful to have had her as my surgeon. I underwent a total laparoscopic hysterectomy under her care. What was expected to be a straightforward procedure turned out to be more challenging because of unexpected endometriosis and adhesions. Despite these complications, Dr. Shanthala was able to complete the surgery laparoscopically itself, with small incisions, without having to convert it into an open abdominal surgery. What stood out to me was how strongly she prioritised my comfort and recovery. She could have chosen the approach that would have been easier from a surgical perspective, but instead she made every effort to preserve the minimally invasive approach and put my needs first. We had initially consulted Dr. Shanthala for my fibroids. Before deciding on the surgery, we did take multiple other opinions, but we eventually came back to her. The biggest reason was the clarity with which she explained everything and the confidence she brought to the consultation. We always felt that she knew exactly what she was talking about ** ** I personally really liked her straightforward communication style. ** She tells you things as they are, explains the situation clearly, and gives you a realistic understanding of what to expect. Her confidence and experience as a surgeon are naturally reassuring. Looking back, I am very thankful for the care, expertise and confidence she brought throughout the entire process. She is an experienced and highly skilled surgeon who genuinely seems invested in her patients’ well-being and recovery. My experience with her has been extremely positive, and I would be happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled and patient-focused gynaecological surgeon.

I had a hysterectomy done by Dr Shanthala and her team. I am very happy with their treatment. My case was complicated and I was very scared. But the doctor ensured that everything went smoothly. I would not recommend this doctor at all. I visited her via a health care package I booked at Sakra. I had nonstop uterine bleeding for months and wanted a comprehensive checkup. I walked in, she had one foot up in her chair and I hoped this meant she was a relaxed, open person. Quite the opposite. She barely glanced at my chart, signed it and tossed it back on the table. She said I was fine. I explained my condition. And she scribbled a birth control pill on the chart before tossing it back. She hadn't even spelled my name correctly though it was right there on the chart, this shows how closely she looked at my test results. I further explained how I have an immune disorder, thyroid issues and would also like to consider a hysterectomy to improve my quality of life. She dismissed my issues and said wait till 40. She also put all the onus on my weight. The doctor insisted my issues were due to my weight gain. I highlighted I had these same issues when I was thin with an eating disorder and the thyroid condition arose recently causing weight gain. She shrugged and asked what I eat daily. * ** ** I asked if the birth control would interact with any of my other medications and she waved her hand saying no. I also highlighted that I have CPTSD due to DV when she kept insisting I was making excuses and was just fat. * * * ** * ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** I decided to give the birth control she prescribed a try. The next month was agony. I had severe full body pain, nausea, fatigue and vomiting. I looked up the birth control as it was the only new thing. It had an item I'm allergic to. Despite me highlighting this to the doctor and enquiring about interactions. * ** ** ** ** I wanted to warn other potential patients before they experience this. * ** ** **

I consulted her for a hysterectomy because fibroids was causing excessive heavy bleeding that left me severely anemic and affected my lifestyle very badly. She counseled me very well before the surgery explaining the process options and risks. She gave me the confidence to go ahead with the surgery. She and her excellent surgical team did a fantastic job and the post recovery was so smooth that it surprised me. I could walk in a few hours after surgery and went home after 48 hours. She told me what to follow after surgery and was very confident and explained everything in details which helps to take decisions and set expectations. Highly recommend her for any gynecology issue. I trust her and the team at Sakra to do an excellent job and the best care in Bangalore.

I had a very bad experience, an emergency situation of excessive blood loss in urine, severe abdominal pain and tiredness. Doctor prescribed a Urinary routine test and Culture stimulation(result would take 3 days) and very basic medicines. Symptoms were concluded as UTI, medicines for 3 days and no emergency steps were taken. As I was unsatisfied, visited another hospital. ** I am extremely disappointed
