GLICLAPACK-MV tablet is used to control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. gliclazide, metformin hydrochloride, voglibose tablet is used alone or in combination with other medications. here gliclazide helps in stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin. metformin helps decrease sugar levels and helps insulin to work better.
you are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. caution must be followed as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. stopping the medication abruptly may cause a sudden rise in blood glucose levels, leading to kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, and loss of limbs.
the most common side effects of this medication are hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose level), nausea, taste change, diarrhoea, stomach pain, flatulence, headache, skin rash, and respiratory tract infection. this medication may cause a sudden decrease in blood glucose levels, leading to symptoms such as sweating, dizziness, headache, and shaking. to avoid this, always carry a fast-acting source of glucose such as sugary food or fruit juice with you. alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication as it may lead to hypoglycaemia.
before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medications. this medication is not recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding as it may harm the baby.
