Abdofree syrup is a laxative. It works by exerting an osmotic effect, drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, thus making the stools soft and easier to pass.
Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. The dose depends on your medication condition. Take regularly at a fixed time. This medication may take 48 hours to show its effects. Consult your doctor if your condition has not improved even after three days of treatment. Do not stop the medication unless told by your doctor.
Common side effects are cramps, abdominal distension, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Drink plenty of water. Consult your doctor if you notice or experience severe stomach pain, diarrhoea, mood changes, or seizures.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have diabetes. Advise blood test if you take this medication for a prolonged time. Consult your doctor before taking another laxative.
