My embarrassing period story happened a few years ago. I was at school, on the last day of year 11, and it had been an incredibly long and tiring day with lots of exams going on. Around lunchtime I decided to head to the bathrooms and when I got there, disaster struck - my period started unexpectedly!
I quickly tried my best to go undetected by having some sort tissue tucked into my pocket but unfortunately it wasn't enough. As soon as I stepped out of the bathroom stall, one of my classmates had noticed that something was off. She took me aside and asked if everything was all right - this time she saw what was wrong. Being a close high-school friend she offered me spare pads that she kept inside her bag for emergencies (which saved me thank goodness!).
As embarrassed as I felt for the situation, we both just laughed it off together in mutual understanding - after all everyone's been through this before! It always helps to have supportive friends around during these situations! That experience certainly taught me some good lessons: Always check your stocking levels before heading out into public places during 'that time' and don't forget your emergency kit (especially away from home)!
