There are a few things you can do to help prevent ear pain during the landing of planes. Some people find that chewing gum or sucking on candy helps to open up the Eustachian tubes and relieve the pressure in their ears. You can also try yawning or swallowing frequently during the descent. If you start to experience ear pain, you can pinch your nose shut and gently blow into your nose. This will help to equalize the pressure in your ears.
