Q. Is uterine cancer painful?
Doctor Answer is medically reviewed by SecondMedic medical review team.
The pain associated with uterine cancer depends on the stage of the disease and individual experience. In early stages, some women may not feel any pain at all. However, in later stages of uterine cancer, symptoms may include abdominal or pelvic discomfort, including pressure or a feeling of fullness in the abdomen, abnormal vaginal bleeding and/or discharge that is unrelated to a menstrual cycle, painful urination or defecation when tumors are pressing against these organs, pain during sexual intercourse if tumors are creating blockages along the vaginal canal walls or altering tissue tension. If you think you may have symptoms related to uterine cancer it is important to contact your doctor as soon as possible for an evaluation and diagnosis.
