Description

Amlosafe 2.5 Tablet 10's contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that acts by relaxing the blood vessels. This reduces the workload on the heart and
makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Thus, it helps to lower high blood pressure, reducing the chances of heart attack or stroke. Taking this medicine regularly as prescribed by your doctor along with other lifestyle modifications can help you control your blood pressure better.

• Amlosafe 2.5 mg tablet is prescribed for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and myocardial ischemia associated with angina pectoris.

Direction/dosage

•  Amlosafe 2.5 mg tablet should be taken orally with or without food
•  Amlosafe 2.5 mg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
•  Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
•  Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
•  Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Safety Precautions

•  During this medication, grapefruit juice and grapefruit should not be consumed. This is because grapefruit and grapefruit juice can lead to an increase in the blood levels of the active ingredients amlodipine, which can cause an unpredictable increase in the blood pressure lowering effect of amlodipine.
•  If allergic to this medicine, inform the physician immediately.
•  Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
•  Keep out of reach of children.
•  A sudden drop in your blood pressure may occur, especially when you first start taking Amlosafe 2.5 Tablet. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
•  It can cause ankle or foot swelling. To reduce the swelling, raise your legs while you are sitting down. Talk to your doctor if it does not go away.
•  Do regular physical activity or exercise for at least 150 minutes per week, or about 30 minutes most days of the week. 
•  Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
