Geminor M tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication works by increasing insulin production from the pancreas and decreasing glucose production from the liver.

You are advised to take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medication at the same time daily for better results. The dose, duration and frequency of this medication are based on the medical condition of the patient.

Don’t stop this medication even if you feel better. Discontinuation of this medication without consulting your doctor might raise blood sugar levels, worsen the condition, and cause complications like kidney damage, blindness, and nerve problems. Along with this medication, a healthy diet, regular exercises and maintaining a healthy weight helps to better outcomes. While you are on this medication, go for regular blood glucose checkups to know the improvement.

The most common side effects of this medication include hypoglycemia, weight gain, upper respiratory tract infections, taste alteration, nausea and stomach pain. Symptoms of hypoglycemia include sweating, headache, dizziness and shaking. Hypoglycemia can be avoided by taking meals regularly and take fruit juices if you experience hypoglycemia symptoms. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication as it may raise blood glucose levels.

Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you have type1 or type 2 diabetes because this medication is not used in type 1 diabetes mellitus. Inform your doctor if you have ketoacidosis, kidney, liver problems or heart problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother.
